Professor Heather Bizon | Spring 2020 Travel Studio | Cincinnati, Ohio & Miami, FL
Reality can be defined by the amalgamation of various cultures, histories, stories, and aesthetics interacting with one another. Each facet must engage with one another and defines a complex part of the fabric of life.
This studio initially travels to Miami and the Florida keys, a prominent case study of how different cultures, varied climates, and even diverse incomes, collide with one another to generate an almost surreal experience to American life. Afterwards, given a set of diverse categories based on the American Midwest, each student generates a new story and architectural language that depicts either a past or future theoretical reality.
